This is an online class. Instruction includes a weekly tutorial, individual feedback and critique, and a weekly Zoom session where the class can discuss topics and share with each other. You can participate from anywhere. All levels are welcome, but some drawing experience is helpful. It is strongly recommended that beginners take Jane’s Pastels Fundamentals online workshop first, which will be offered March 20 through Manchester Art Association. 

This class will help you develop confidence with the pastel medium, including building a strong composition, understanding values, creating light and shadow, and developing cohesive color harmony in your paintings. Various underpainting techniques will be introduced. Students may use reference photos you have taken yourself or paint from life. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
